Here in the United States, it is the week of Thanksgiving. A time that we give thanks for all of our blessings, which certainly (for me) begins with “family.”
What are you most grateful for this week of Thanksgiving?? How do you “count your blessings?” Are you mindful of the little blessings as well as the big? What blessings do you celebrate?
A friend of ours has a wonderful tradition with the group that gathers together for Thanksgiving dinner. Not only do they go around the table and mention what they are most grateful for, but they also talk about the “little gratitudes” that they have seen in their lives. And…it seems that as they go around and around and around the table, it is the “little ones” that bring the most conversation, memories and laughter. Isn’t that what Thansgiving is REALLY about?
May I leave you with this quote:
“Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you.”
— Eileen Caddy
I just read the premiere issue of my coach’s newsletter. It contained the perfect quote for how I am feeling today:
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to live on this beautiful and astonishing planet Earth. In the morning, I wake up with a sense of gratitude.”
>> Earl Nightingale
And that is EXACTLY how I felt when I watched the sun come up!
How often are we grateful for the sunrise? I certainly “take it for granted…” and why shouldn’t I…it has happened, without fail, for the last billion (?) years!
There is a strong correlation between health and gratitude. And it is so easy to be grateful!
This morning I wish to say “thank you” to the sun, and to “our creator” of every sunrise. “Keep up the good work.” 🙂 🙂 🙂
And while I am thinking of it; log onto www.jochristie.com and sign up for her newsletter!
As we continue with our focus on “gratitude” this month of November, I wish to journey from “our earth to “our health.”
And for that journey, please consider this quote: (Don’t you just love quotes!)
“Until a man duplicates a blade of grass, nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge. Remedies from chemicals will never stand in favour with products of nature, the living cell of the plant, the final results of the rays of the sun, the mother of all life.
On with gratitude for our Health!
What do you think of when you think of “the earth?” Mother Earth? The Good Earth? Earth Day?
I think of the gifts of our planet that she so wonderously and generously provides us; with or without our gratitude.
Today is not Earth Day. Earth Day is in April. April 22, I believe. There are many events that occur on Earth Day; and our earth certainly deserves a day of her own to be celebrated. But, why not celebrate our earth every day? It does not need to be a “great celebration.” A few minutes of gratitude for Mother Earth each morning as we wake, each evening as we drift off to sleep…
Do you have more than a few minutes? Maybe ten? I read a great article by Karen Talavera named Ten Minutes for Planet Earth. I invite you to read it, and consider how YOU will honor and thank our Mother Earth for ALL that she does for us. Without her, where would we be?
